After being out of the office for two weeks, I just knew that my first week back would be completely hectic going through hundreds of unanswered e-mails and just trying to catch up to start the new year. When the expected mayhem of being out of the office for any extended period of time was avoided, I could have done a cartwheel past my boss's office (although, she would have been very curious as to why that was happening and we probably would have had a conversation around what is and is not appropriate in the workplace).
However, what made me the most excited was coming back and seeing that our community was still incredibly active during the holidays. Our community members were still connecting and helping one another find solutions to issues. The passion that we all share for the profession and what we do is not like anything I've seen anywhere else. It's exciting, rewarding, and always keeps me looking forward to the next day.
All that being said, we're very excited for 2016! There's a lot we're looking to accomplish to make our community even better. If you are looking for ways to get involved in the community, make sure you visit the discussion boards and participate in conversations. Also, feel free to collaborate with one or more of your fellow community members to create content.
Thank you all for being a part of our ever-growing family of professional project managers and here's to a successful 2016!

@Rebecca: Thanks you for this great post - I very much like the title by the way. I am a new member here, and the reasons behind me being very active are as follows:
1- This is the main reason. When I first joined couple of months ago, I was lost in the website but you and the team helped me big time rapping my head around every aspect of the site and answered every concern I had in timely manner and I know for a fact, I addressed a lot of concerns and this motivated me a lot because when you see the community in charge personnel on top of the community you immediately realize: This is a successful Community.
2- This community here is fantastic, like you said, the passion and what we do here is like anything I've seen before as well.
3- It is a great place to network with like-minded colleges.
4- It is great to feel you are able to make a difference and help other. At the same time, learn from professional fellow members.
Thank you for all the support and all your professional efforts. I am PROUD to be part of this community and assist to the best of my knowledge.

@Stephane, Wish you all the best. I am sure we all will gain from your valuable experience and insights.
@Rami, enjoying your contributions on PM practices and especially so on construction management (being from the same field).
As far as I am concerned, while I had authored (or co-authored) a few article over the past 5 years or so, it''s only in the recent past I had started focusing on writing. I must thank PMI team and Marjorie Anderson in particular for patiently listening and then clarifying my queries, and for encouraging me to contribute.
Wishing a Creative 2016.

@Rebecca.. Thank you for the post.. The community is indeed open 24 hours.. ask me :) I always come back here anytime of the day for any queries/ thoughts and I am never dissapointed.
In Retrospection ..I thank my stars for that day when I posted a request for a webinar - speaking opportunity on PMI site.. I was not not even aware of this community at that time.. I was pleasantly surprised by the quick response , the opportunity that this community has provided me, the way you coached and mentored me for my first webinar :), since then you have supported me all the way !
Thanks and have a great 2016 ahead !
