Often you need a quick definition that lies somewhere between a Wikipedia tome and a MSWord suggestion. WordWeb gives you a great little alternative for free. The free version gives you:
- 140 000 root words
- 115 000 synonym sets
- Integration with MS Word
- Definitions, synonyms, antonyms
- Proper nouns
- Related words (word type, nearest word, etc.)
- Pronunciations
I had heard about this app from a couple of friends who gave it rave reviews. It's also highly rated on CNET by editors, but EVEN MORE HIGHLY RATED by users.
