Format: Plan

The purpose of this Project Outline template is to clearly explain the reason for starting the project and ensure alignment among stakeholders. It acts as a high-level communication tool to share essential information with both leadership and project teams, helping to initiate the project smoothly—especially when team members are spread across different locations.

Complete this outline early in the project lifecycle to align stakeholders on the purpose and scope of the initiative. While this is not a replacement for a full Project Charter, it serves as a starting point to initiate conversations, secure preliminary support, and communicate intent across teams and leadership. The project leader or program manager can fill this template.
