Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Template
Format: Schedule
This template allows you to create and manage a work breakdown structure. The WBS divides your project into smaller and more manageable parts. It gives a clear overview of everything that needs to be done and delivered. The work breakdown structure can be defined as soon as the total scope of your project is known. Based on the scope definition (or statement), you can subdivide your project into smaller parts. These parts are called work packages. Be careful not to split the work into parts that are too small: you can stop subdividing the work as soon as a work package has one or more deliverables that can be effectively managed by one person regarding time and cost.
This template is one in a total of 14, together forming a comprehensive set for project management aligned with the methodology explained in A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide).
