We all know we are supposed to do a “lessons learned” exercise as part of our projects. Some of us even take the time to go through the motions. The challenge is that lessons learned rarely get paid attention to, and organizational practices rarely change as a result. If we really want to learn from our projects, we need to change how we think about lessons learned.
This webinar takes a hard look about how we learn from our projects, and how we organizationally learn (or fail to learn) in general. It explores the typical approaches to attempting to learn from projects, the challenges that are experienced in applying them, and why they ultimately fail to result in real change.
More importantly, we explore strategies to make learning meaningful, relevant and actually useful. Mark Mullaly dives into how learning works, how organizations take on and make changes and identifies strategies that we can employ. In particular, he identifies approaches that work not only at the organizational level, but also that can be applied and used within teams, projects and by individuals.
