The Statement of Work also known as the SOW that a vendor provides needs to be thoroughly reviewed to ensure that all expected deliverables are there. The information in the SOW will also help to plan out the preparation work prior to the vendor performing their work. It also helps to plan out post SOW follow up work.

Read The Vendor Statement of Work for more SOW information.

Statement of Work is a critical document because it defines the deliverables, major milestones, estimates of resources, budget and timeline, roles/ responsibilities, ground rules and assumptions if any. The SOW gets especially important when third-party vendors become involved. To ensure that the project remain on track ant stakeholder can refer to SOW to remind original scope of a project.

The SOW is the most important thing and if not thoroughly reviewed amd was missing, it can lead to sp many issues of which one of them is Change Orders.

I agree Rami, a missing line item on a SOW can lead to Change Orders. It also will cause delays in deliverables.
