It's April and, here in North America spring has finally arrived...we think. We had a pretty decent snow storm a few weeks ago and we're hoping that's the last of it until winter comes around again. In the meantime, we hope that you've taken some time to reflect on your project successes during the first 3 months of 2018 and maybe even gathered some valuable lessons learned that will help make your future projects even more successful. With that, here's what's going on in the community:

  • A United States Senator Visits PMI Global Headquarters: On Friday, 6 April, U.S. Senator Bob Casey visited PMI Global Headquarters in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania to see firsthand the impact of the project management profession across the United States and around the world. PMI Government Relations Manager, Tommy Goodwin, highlights the Senator's visit in a recent post.
  • PMXPO 2018 is on-demand: If you missed PMXPO 2018 (or were not able to attend all of the sessions), you can still catch them on-demand! Hear keynote Joel H. Cohen (Emmy-award winning writer and producer of The Simpsons™) speak about key lessons from the show's culture of innovation that you can take away and apply to your projects. The event is on-demand until 22 June 2018 and you can view it here
  • The CAPM® is now more accessible than ever: Are you preparing to test for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) certification? If so, you should know that you can now take the exam online anywhere in the world! Online proctored exams allow you to conveniently and easily take an exam in the comfort of your home or office while being monitored by an offsite proctor. To learn more, visit the CAPM® certification page on PMI.org.
  • Stakeholders and project cost: Does the number of stakeholders affect the cost of your project? If so, how? Community member Mostafa Nour could use your input in his most recent discussion post. Join the discussion!

That's all for now! If you have any questions about community events, user guidelines, or any other community happenings, feel free to reach out to any member of the Community Engagement team. We're happy to help!

Additionally, if you're working on something really exciting, we'd love to know about it. Leave a comment below and let us know what's going on in your world!

"In Italy for thirty years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, bloodshed - but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

- Orson Welles, The Third Man
