I am sure that many of us would like a new change a new job in 2019 that’s why I did not ask are you planning to search a new job because just searching will not guarantee a new job.

Now you do your skills development read more books, get new courses, and achieve more certifications, these supposedly will help forming a better chance to land on a desired job but it is not guaranteed, there is more to that;

To get a good landing it has been said unfortunately is not about how much you know it is about whom you do know. Networking is very important but how that works how effective and supportive is your network.

Looking at the picture above if they know you and biased to give you the job the interview question would be how many rabbit in the picture?

If you are not the candidate of interest and just to complete formalities and push you out then the interview question would be how many carrots in the picture?

This is a reality in most of the places and can go beyond that as a project manager and wants to hire a candidate but the management and HR they are against you, not in line with you they will not say that simply all would agree on your candidate as number 1 to hire but adding these words subject to do back ground check then couple days later they would tell you; Oh the back  ground check came bad and it is confidential we cannot reveal that to you so now to move to second candidate of their choice

There are many discrimination, racism and biases in the workforce we all need to keep struggling to improve and create a healthy environment and achieve more justice and equality among all employees.

Hi Riyadh, Although the example is very good but overall the Blog is not very positive. You have raised many HR queries and can be handled by HR Department of the oraganization.

Ashutosh, the blog is representing reality though it is bitter, I know in your country you dominate the HR but here our problem is with HR
If you grasp the message is to keep struggling to change that situation and create more healthy culture in the workplace.

Riyadh, you touch some good points but it is not always about who you know, as this maybe get you the interview but what you know will get you the job so for me it is more important.

Rami, well thank you for your valued feedback, it is always good to see different views to know what is going on, your thoughts are also true however mostly I found that "inside" play big part for getting the interview and getting the job as well. what we form of idea is based on what most of the time we see and experience due to different circumstances.

I love the company that I'm working nowadays, is not only because my managers challenge me each day is also because the team members are amazing, hence...not looking at this point.

However, your post touched some very good points. Thank you for sharing.

Indeed, judgemental attitude and subjectivity in the workforce is a constant barrier for job seekers and career progression.
