The World Bank predicts global GDP growth of 2.8 percent, up from 2.4 percent in 2016. While this should bring lots of opportunities for project managers, not all countries will share in that. PM Network’s annual jobs report focuses on the economic outlooks for India, Germany, Nigeria, United Arab Emirates, the United States, China, United Kingdom and Brazil. Practitioners give their thoughts on how the role of project manager will evolve in 2017. Also learn about five emerging economies—Vietnam, Mexico, Indonesia, Colombia and Botswana—with good project management opportunities.
Do you think your country will have economic growth in 2017? Please let us know in the comments.

From my point of view, economically grows in big countries also depends on the region. For example, here in USA, the predictions are different in the different states.
Thanks for covering India in depth. India has become top destination place for investors over past few years. But that does not mean there will be enough economic growth, opportunities, and jobs created. There are still lots of challenges to overcome.

Hi,
It is true that India has phenomenal economic outlook in all sectors. India is Booming economy with challenges head on its way to become developed economy. With GDP growth of 7.6 Percent in (2015-2016), India is in transition state of becoming rich and developed economy. Although there a lot of ahead challenges for which India need Infrastructure to manage. Modernizing India will require more than words as we need infrastructure to match the growth. Therefore, India needs the project to create infrastructure for business eventually It will create the job opportunity and India will require the skill project managers to work on projects.
Great article-but how do you land an entry level job in project management without the 2 years of experience required? I'm having an immensely difficult time here. It appears that it doesn't matter if I'm a CAPM or have a Masters in Project Management. I see a lot of potential for a career here, but sadly, it's unattainable.
To my impression, you have to look at Africa for high growth at the moment. In 2015: Ethiopia with 9.6 %, Cote d'Ivoire with 9.2 %, Senegal with 6.5 %, Kenya with 5.6 % (Source: World Bank). Look for new projects there!

Colombia is a hot bed right now - US companies should look more into having their satellite offices there taking advantage of the same timezone. LeanStaffing.com is an example.
