Recently, in a speech, Christine Lagarde Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), issued  a warning to financial institutions that . . .

We are about to see massive disruptions” resulting from the combination of  cryptocurrency and blockchain distributed ledger technologies. She went on to stress that institutions and regulators must  “adjust… to the impact of the combined breakthrough technologies that will impact markets.”

Those are very powerful words, but wait - there's more!

In Bank of America's recent Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing, the bank stated cryptocurrency poses a competitive threat to its business on three separate occasions within the document.
