| 2017 is set to be a banner year for technology enabled/driven change. Many experts along with management consulting organizations have publicly stated the complexities and challenges of the coming technology enabled/driven change. Some management consulting firms now say that many organizations are partnering with tech providers in order to rapidly advance their particular field or for accelerated leveraging an emerging technology solution or solutions. This will have a moderate impact for program and project managers. After all, coordinating with organizations outside their own is a formidable task most of the time. It just keeps adding up and it is clearly now more than ever before that 2017 will be a challenge of PMs!

| I just participated in a slide presentation about 2017. Data suggests that over 60 percent of organizations IT departments believe they will initiate new projects involving emerging technology in 2017. A whopping 30 percent believe they need new tech pros to clearly articulate their business value and how the new technologies will aide in achieving business goals. With all that, only 5 percent stated they wanted to hire PMs and 8 percent believe their biggest leadership challenge will be managing these projects. Makes one think!
