As the current state of robotics continues to rapidly advance, some of the breakthroughs are jaw-dropping to be sure.  Here is one of those jaw-dropping advancements.  It deals with a new experimental robot arm/hand that grips and sensors in the arm/hand can ‘taste’ what it touches.  Check it out!

@ Priya - This is cheating a bit because I have seen some of the research, but I will say SMELL is the next replicated sense.

That is an interesting advance. It should be perfected or adapted to analyze food confirm content.

@Kelvin. If SMELL is replicated , and used in Mobile phones ! Imagine the infinite possibilities it will generate.... making a call from Kitchen to invite spouse for dinner ,detecting Gas leakage, ordering perfume online.. so on and soforth!

@ Irshad (SMELL is replicated) here is the one I thought of. . . Sending an eCard with Roses on the card and the smell of roses when you open it. Changes Valentines day for sure.

Dear Kevin
Interesting on your perspective: "Another interesting breakthrough in robotics!"
Thanks for sharing

I don't even know what to say about "a robot with integrated organic components, or what they call a 'bio-hybrid bot'"
