There are more than 5 reasons, but I couldn't fit them on! For another couple, check out this article.

Thank you, Elizabeth. I might take issue with #2. Knowledge Management should be ongoing, not solely when the project finishes. But I guess that would ideally be a partnership b/t RM and KM.

Knowledge Management as Andrew pointed something that we always have to keep in mind and don't wait until the project finished or a team member movement.

Thank you Elizabeth for this wonderful article.
Well, I do agree with Andrew & Maria for the importance of Knowledge Management as it should be ongoing through out the project.

According to me RM (Specially in term of Man-power) is one of the most critical part in Project Management specially in case of Matrix organization where PM is totally depends upon the other department and where your team don't report you functionally.

This type of activity must be completed prior to start the micro level planning and PM must have thoroughly idea of how many Men-heads he must be getting from the other support functions.,and up to how much duration each resource are going to work in the same Project !!!

PM should also worried about the skill set of the resources what he is going to get in the project from other functions...

Allover, Resource Management Strategy is play a most critical role in the project execution.
