As the year end comes to a close, let’s reflect on our journeys:

1.What goals did you set at the start of the year, and how many did you achieve? Are there any you'll carry forward to 2025?

2.What mistakes did you make, and what valuable lessons did you learn from your projects or tasks?
3.What was the most stressful situation you faced, and how did you overcome it?
4.Did you switch jobs this year? If yes, how is the transition to your new role?
5.How have you grown professionally or personally this year?
6.What’s one major accomplishment you’re proud of in 2024?
7.Looking ahead, what are your top priorities or goals for 2025?

Let’s share and learn from each other’s experiences as we prepare to embrace the new year!

I took up new and more complex challenges and was able to achieve 2/3. I feel proud of myself because it appeared as if I would not be able to achieve anyone at all.

1 - Expand my PM connections. Got into Online Community Champion Volunteering
2 - One significant mistake early in my career was underestimating the importance of stakeholder alignment during a critical data migration project. While focused on technical deliverables, I missed addressing stakeholder concerns adequately, which led to delays in decision-making.
3 - One of the most stressful situations I faced was during a critical data migration project where we transitioned from a relational database (MySQL) to an abstract database (JCR). Midway through the project, we discovered significant data anomalies that could have severely impacted business operations if not addressed.
4 - Yes - Switching the job is another most stressful experience. I hardly received any interview calls. I am see the traditional way of applying for a job opening for getting placed is not that effective anymore. Working on alternatives now.
5 - Both Out of the rich experience I have gained over these 19 years I am able to manage my role as Consultant most effectively.
7 - Owing to the uncertainty that prevails in my current role I have to find some stability in my professional life.

Lots of questions in this post. Personally, 2024 has been a challenging year. I was assigned a critical program with hard deadlines that could not be met. Realigning expectations was a tough exercise; this is a prove that top down planning is often risky. Prior to making commitments to external parties it is crucial to check in-house capabilities! I look forward to 2025, a pivotal year in which I intend to relocate to my hometown after 9 years abroad.

2024 has been an amazing year for me, filled with valuable lessons and personal and professional growth (yes, I am definitely a year older!). One significant achievement that I’m proud of is becoming a full member of APM, which has helped expand my professional network. I look forward to contributing more to this forum in 2025!

In the recent years I got my onw business failured, it was hard to process. But in 2024 I got an amazing job and restarted to focus on the career path, moving step by step, growing a bit each day, sharing experience, and so on.

Main goals for 2025:

1 - Pass the CAPM exam;
2 - Pass the Green Belt Six Sigma exam;
3 - Expand my professional network.

That's it!

I wish everyone here the best 2025. Let's go.

As the year comes to a close, reflecting on academic growth and professional development reveals several wins and lessons. This year, significant strides were made in building closer ties with universities, fostering collaborations through guest lectures and joint research initiatives, which have enriched both personal knowledge and the academic community. These efforts have not only contributed to academic growth but have also enhanced visibility as a project management expert on a global scale.
