Existen 10 tendencias que convergen a nivel mundial, pero que deben ser analizadas con detenimiento y deben ser personalizadas a la madurez de la dirección de proyectos y a los factores ambientales que tenga cada continente, país, ciudad y/o sector donde se desee implementar.

1. Énfasis en las habilidades blandas - “SoftSkills”.

Las métricas tienen dos funciones principales, la primera es servir como cuadro de mando del director del proyecto, y la segunda es ser una herramienta con la que la organización pueda reportar y controlar de forma simple el estado general del proyecto; aunque las métricas actuales son muy buenas, se espera que las empresas realicen avances en las técnicas de medición.
